Choy Lee Fut is characterised by free-flowing movements, flexible footwork, developing power from the opposite side of the body, slip attacking and destabilising deflections. It is also famous for leen wan charp choy, or consecutive leopard fist techniques, in which the second row of knuckles are used for punching, giving an extra couple of inches of reach and additional power from the reduced surface area used for striking.
The Bak Sing Style of Choy Lee Fut was founded by Master Tam Sam. It combines the southern Shaolin style of Choy Lee Fut with influences from the Northern Shaolin tradition of Master Ku Yu Chang, the famous “King of Iron Palm” (pictured right).
